Three innovative enterprises signed to enter Cardiovasuclar Health Industry Collaborative Innovation Base.

New members were welcomed to Cardiovasuclar Health Industry Collaborative Innovation Base launched by Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology, Administrative Committee of Xiamen Torch Development Zone For High Technology Industries and Xiamen Cardiovascular Hospital Xiamen University (XMCH).

At Xiamen Cardiovascular Health Industry Innovation Forum 2023 held on November 17th, Xiamen Torch Biomedical Incubator and XMCH signed with 3 innovative enterprises in the cardiovascular field, including MedPhoenix, Xinshi Juxin Medical Technology, and AP TECHNOLOGIES. At this point, 10 enterprises have signed to settle in Cardiovasuclar Health Industry Collaborative Innovation Base.

Cardiovasuclar Health Industry Collaborative Innovation Base relies on high-quality specialized medical resources from XMCH, focusing on the field of cardiovascular innovative medical devices and health. Guided by the integration of medical and industrial collaborative innovation and the industrialization of scientific research achievements, it conducts collaborative innovation cooperation, public platform services, industry investment linkage, technology enterprise incubation, investment and financing docking, and academic forums. Previously, the base has attracted Center for Cardiovascular Innovations (CCI), a top domestic innovation resource led by Ge Junbo, an academician of CAS and a famous cardiovascular expert, to set up a center in Xiamen, and led the establishment of Xiamen Cardiovascular Health Industry Technology Innovation Consortium and a cardiovascular special industry fund.

Sparks of innovation collide in the integration of medicine and engineering

The combination of medicine and engineering is a prominent highlight of Cardiovasuclar Health Industry Collaborative Innovation Base. “The so-called 'combination of medicine and engineering' refers to the idea that comes from clinical doctors and is then turned into reality through the efforts of engineers. ",said by Guo Yan, the general manager of Xiamen Torch Biomedical Incubator. Cardiovasuclar Health Industry Collaborative Innovation Base encourages experts in the fields of medicine and engineering to contribute their own professional strength, and collides with innovative sparks in the combination of medicine and engineering.

“Xiamen has achieved excellent results in the innovation of cardiovascular medical devices, the development of new medical technologies, and clinical research. We look forward to promoting more innovative projects to land on   Xiamen’s soil. “said by Wei Xufeng, the chairman of a newly settled company named MedPhoenix, which is a comprehensive service platform that serves the development of innovative medical devices. Wei said that the company will take the opportunity of entering the base to further optimize full chain comprehensive services including technology and experiments.

The base has preliminarily formed an early layout of cardiovascular health industry cluster

“The new projects to be settled this time include medical chips, large animal experimental platforms, and high-value medical consumables such as catheters.” Guo said. With the further expansion, the fields involved in Cardiovasuclar Health Industry Collaborative Innovation Base are becoming more diverse.

As of now, Cardiovasuclar Health Industry Collaborative Innovation Base has attracted a total of 10 innovative enterprises to settle in, covering sub fields such as structural heart disease, cardiovascular intervention, heart failure, heart rhythm, and professional health care, forming an early layout for the clustering of the cardiovascular health industry.

Guo introduced that Xiamen Torch Development Zone has introduced support policies for enterprises entering Cardiovasuclar Health Industry Collaborative Innovation Base, including rent subsidies, clinical trial cost subsidies, etc. These policies focus on the early stage of enterprise development and complement the existing policies in Xiamen. She stated that the base will fully integrate the power of "government, industry, academia, research and medical resources", promote the close connection between upstream clinical needs and top domestic cardiovascular resources, and promote the further improvement of Xiamen's cardiovascular health industry chain.

The Xiamen Cardiovascular Health Industry Innovation Forum 2023 is jointly hosted by Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology, Administrative Committee of Xiamen Torch Development Zone For High Technology Industries and XMCH.
