Recently, five cardiovascular experts and hospital administrators from Colombia, Russia, and Uzbekistan visited Xiamen Cardiovascular Hospital Xiamen University (Xiamen Cardiovascular Hospital) for in-depth visits and academic exchanges. From on-site hospital tours to thematic discussions, Chinese and international experts engaged in extensive dialogue on innovations in cardiovascular disease diagnosis and treatment, as well as international medical talent cultivation, laying the groundwork for future multilateral cooperation
Experiencing the "China Speed" at Xiamen Cardiovascular Hospital

Accompanied by President Wang Yan, the expert delegation toured the emergency and outpatient departments, interventional catheterization laboratories, chest pain center, and non-accompanied wards at Xiamen Cardiovascular Hospital.The visiting guests highly praised the hospital's modern medical environment, efficient chest pain treatment workflow, and the routine implementation of highly complex cardiac interventional procedures.Dr. Olga Lucia Moreno Calderon from Colombia commented:"The facilities and clinical management at Xiamen Cardiovascular Hospital are highly impressive and truly worth learning from."
Chinese Domestic Medical Devices Draw International Attention

During the visit, the delegation also gained insight into China's independently developed cardiovascular medical devices and closely observed innovative domestic products including coronary balloons, ECMO systems, artificial hearts, percutaneous ventricular assist devices (pVADs), and left ventricular assist devices (LVADs).After learning that these advanced devices were independently researched, developed, and manufactured in China, many experts expressed admiration and strong interest.Dr. Andrei Maltsev from Russia remarked:"China's pace of independent innovation in cardiovascular devices is remarkable. These products not only demonstrate outstanding performance, but also offer significant cost-effectiveness advantages, showing tremendous potential for future collaboration."Both sides also conducted preliminary discussions on clinical applications of the devices, technical training, and overseas regulatory registration.
In-Depth Dialogue Explores Future Cooperation

During the symposium session, President Wang Yan delivered a welcome address and provided a detailed introduction to the development history, internationalization strategy, and innovative achievements of Xiamen Cardiovascular Hospital in the field of structural heart disease intervention

Experts from Colombia, Russia, and Uzbekistan subsequently introduced the characteristics of their respective institutions and their cooperation interests. Both sides engaged in lively discussions on topics including telemedicine consultation, physician exchange programs, and clinical research, reaching multiple preliminary cooperation intentions.
Third Anniversary Review Highlights International Talent Development

Coinciding with the third anniversary of the launch of the Heart Sapling Visiting Scholar Program (Heart Sapling Program), Xiamen Cardiovascular Hospital shared the achievements and experiences of the program in cultivating international cardiovascular specialists. To date, the Heart Sapling Program has welcomed 37 young physicians from around the world to receive specialized cardiovascular training at the hospital. The visiting experts highly recognized Xiamen Cardiovascular Hospital's efforts in delivering high-quality cardiovascular expertise globally through the Heart Sapling Program and expressed strong interest in recommending outstanding physicians from their own countries to participate in the program in the future.

Following the symposium, all participants gathered for a group photo. This visit not only strengthened mutual understanding between Xiamen Cardiovascular Hospital and medical institutions from Colombia, Russia, Uzbekistan, and other countries, but also opened broader opportunities for future international cooperation in technology sharing, talent cultivation, and cardiovascular medicine.
