Chinese and Russian Experts Hold Dialogue in Xiamen to Safeguard Heart Health Together

On March 22, 2026, a high-level China–Russia exchange conference on transfusion medicine and cardiovascular disease diagnosis and treatment was held at Xiamen Cardiovascular Hospital, Xiamen University (Xiamen Cardiovascular Hospital).

The event was chaired by Xie Huabin, Chairman of the Labor Union and Director of the Department of Laboratory Medicine at Xiamen Cardiovascular Hospital. He warmly welcomed the visiting Russian experts and introduced Xiamen Cardiovascular Hospital’s innovative practices in cardiovascular care and transfusion medicine.

A ceremonial exchange of gifts and certificates was also held between the Chinese and Russian participants.

The visiting experts came from the Sklifosovsky Clinical and Research Institute for Emergency Medicine under the Moscow Health Department, one of Russia’s leading multidisciplinary emergency hospitals.The two Russian experts were:

Yelena Valeryevna Krechinikova, Director of the Clinical Laboratory and Institute Director;

Yulia Rustamovna Shevasyomyonova, Biological Specialist of the Transfusion Department.

They delivered presentations on:

“Laboratory Monitoring Technologies in Emergency Multidisciplinary Hospital Transfusion Scenarios”and “A Case of Passenger Lymphocyte Syndrome.”

Their presentations provided detailed analysis of dynamic monitoring strategies for key indicators during emergency transfusions and shared internationally advanced laboratory management experience for ensuring transfusion safety in critically ill patients.

Director Ma Fangfang from Xiamen Cardiovascular Hospital also presented “Innovative Experience of Xiamen Cardiovascular Hospital’s Transfusion Department in Patient Blood Management,” showcasing the hospital’s achievements in optimizing clinical pathways, multidisciplinary collaboration, and individualized transfusion strategies.

A major highlight of the conference was the roundtable discussion jointly participated in by Chinese and Russian experts. Topics included improving precision and safety in emergency transfusion and interdisciplinary collaboration models in patient blood management.Chinese experts including Rong Ruiming, Yang Fangnian, Lai Dong, Xu Zhenxing, Su Naizhu, Zhou Zhizhong, Wang Houzhao, Jin Hongwei, Yan Tianming, and Lü Xiaoying actively interacted with Russian representatives including Yulia Shevasyomyonova through case sharing and professional discussions.

Following the discussions, participants toured the laboratory facilities and observed Xiamen Cardiovascular Hospital’s advanced testing equipment and standardized management systems.Yelena Valeryevna Krechinikova remarked:“The level of intelligent laboratory automation in China is astonishing. Full-process automation from sample preprocessing to report generation greatly improves efficiency while ensuring the accuracy and reliability of test results.”

This exchange conference focused on “precision monitoring” and promoted experience sharing and technical cooperation between China and Russia in emergency multidisciplinary collaboration and patient blood management.

In the future, Xiamen Cardiovascular Hospital will continue embracing global expertise with an open attitude, allowing “precision monitoring” and collaborative cardiovascular care to benefit more patients worldwide
