XMCH Won the GCC 2025 Global Cardiovascular International Collaboration Award

On May 15, the inaugural Global Cardiovascular Conference (GCC 2025) was grandly held at the Zhongguancun Independent Innovation Demonstration Zone Exhibition Center in Beijing. During the conference, a series of Global Cardiovascular Innovation Awards were presented. Xiamen Cardiovascular Hospital Xiamen University (referred to as "XMCH") was honored with the“2025 Global Cardiovascular International Collaboration Award.”

The event was co-hosted by Heart Future, a specialized media platform in the cardiovascular field, and Siyu MedTech, a well known medical technology media outlet. It brought together over 500 experts and representatives from medical institutions, universities, research institutes, innovative enterprises, investment firms, and industrial parks. The conference focused on medical-engineering collaboration and technological innovation in cardiovascular healthcare, fostering in-depth discussions and cross-disciplinary integration. The 2025 Global Cardiovascular Innovation Annual White Paper was released at the event, providing forward looking insights into the global cardiovascular industry, including market landscape, policy trends, technological breakthroughs, investment hotspots, and corporate ecosystems.

The 2025 Global Cardiovascular International Collaboration Award recognizes cardiovascular enterprises and related institutions that have successfully promoted Chinese cardiovascular medical devices internationally enhancing China's global presence in the sector or established deep collaborations with leading international research institutions and hospitals to jointly advance cardiovascular medical technologies worldwide. XMCH was awarded for its innovative international cooperation practices that integrate both“bringing in”and“going out”strategies.

Xu Liangyou, Director of the Office of XMCH, was invited as a keynote speaker and delivered a presentation titled Innovation-Driven, Advancing Internationally. He shared XMCH's experience in building a specialty hospital-centered industrial ecosystem and exploring new avenues for international collaboration, based on its recent progress in industrialization and globalization.

“Bringing In”

XMCH launched the Heart Sapling Visiting Scholar Program, inviting international cardiovascular specialists to China for training. The program was officially announced at the United Nations headquarters and selected into the Global Development Project Pool of the China International Development Cooperation Agency. To date, 23 scholars from 12 countries have participated, laying a solid foundation for the global dissemination of Chinese medical technologies and products.

“Going Out”

Since 2024, XMCH has partnered with domestic innovative enterprises to conduct surgical guidance missions in nine countries and regions, including Brazil, El Salvador, and Indonesia. They successfully performed the first overseas implantation of several domestically developed devices and organized numerous online surgical training sessions, actively promoting original Chinese technologies and homegrown innovations. These efforts exemplify a new model of public hospital-led international cooperation in support of Chinese medical devices entering the global market.
