1. Visiting scholars should come from BRICS countries other than China, be under the age of 45.

2. Visiting scholars should hold a master's degree or above in cardiovascular science from a foreign university.

3. Visiting scholars should work in medical or research institutions in BRICS countries, and be engaged in clinical diagnosis and treatment or medical research related to cardiovascular science.

4. Visiting scholars have to be qualified cardiovascular licensed to practice in their own country, and be well-equipped with abilities in cardiovascular disease diagnosis and treatment or research.

5. Fluent and proficiency in English is mandatory for the candidate to interact with the medical team at XMCU.

1. The center will provide visiting scholars with one-time round-trip traveling expenses (standard economy-class airline price), as well as accommodation and stipend-level income during the visiting.

2. The visiting scholars will be able to closely participate in the clinical treatment, use the laboratory and library resources in Xiamen Cardiovascular Hospital.

3. Each visiting scholar will be assigned with a senior researcher or doctor to work with him (her) as his (her) mentor in medical research or clinical treatment.

4. The Center will invite cardiovascular experts and scholars to hold training courses or academic exchanges for visiting scholars.

5. Visiting scholars can participate academic exchange in China during the stay, and the related expenses are funded by BCHIC.

6. During the visit, visiting scholars are required to make at least 1 academic report, the manuscript of the which is required to be submitted to the Center.

1. Each year, BCHIC invites up to 10 visiting scholars to participate in clinical or research training at Xiamen Cardiovascular Hospital Xiamen University for a duration 6 mouths or 1 year. Applicants can propose a visit time according to their own situation. After approving the application, the Center will make uniform arrangements and decide in consultation with the applicant.

1. The center publishes information and accepts applications.

2. After receiving the applications, the center will make preliminary selection. And good candidates will be sent to experts for futher evaluation. Interviews will be organized when necessary.

3. Final acceptance decisions are made by the Expert Board based on applicant’s integrative qualifications and review results from the experts.

CV should clearly show the complete title of the highest degree you received as well as the name of the institution where you obtained your degree, (do not abbreviate institution name) including the date, month and year. CV should also clearly state your current title and/or position, including the complete name of your employer. And if you have published in international academic journals, please also indicate.

3. Work plan
Description of your plan during your stay (minimum 1000 characters if in Chinese, 2 pages, single spaced, if in English).

4. Recommendation letters
Two recommendation letters from experts in relevant fields.

5. Passport Scan and detailed passport information

6. Copy of your medical school diploma

7. Copy of your practicing physician qualification

1. The BCHIC Visiting Scholars Program will start in January 2023. We receive application all year round, and will process the application twice a year, by April 30 and October 31 respectively. Applicants will be notified of the results timely.
