Official Signing Marks New Milestone in BRICS Healthcare Cooperation: Xiamen Cardiovascular Hospital Partners with Indonesia’s Fihuang Group

On May 28, the 2026 BRICS Innovation Base Industrial Project Matchmaking Conference was held in Xiamen. More than 200 participants attended the event, including leaders from the Xiamen Municipal Government, representatives from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, representatives of BRICS countries’ institutions in China, government officials, heads of official trade and investment promotion organizations, experts and scholars, overseas expansion enterprises, and industry association representatives. Participants gathered to explore new opportunities under the framework of Greater BRICS Cooperation.

During the conference, a number of multinational industrial cooperation projects were formally signed. Among them, the international healthcare services cooperation project led by Xiamen Cardiovascular Hospital Xiamen University (Xiamen Cardiovascular Hospital) attracted significant attention.

As the first industrial matchmaking event held since the trial operation of the BRICS Industrial Cooperation and Overseas Expansion Comprehensive Service Port, the conference focused on cross-border promotion, ecosystem development, and targeted business matchmaking. Leveraging the advantages of the BRICS Innovation Base platform, the event aimed to facilitate precise resource matching for enterprises from BRICS countries and “BRICS Plus” partners while promoting mutual empowerment and collaborative development.

During the project signing ceremony, Xu Liangyou, Vice President of Xiamen Cardiovascular Hospital Xiamen University (Xiamen Cardiovascular Hospital), and Oei Kiem Ping, Chairman of Indonesia’s Fihuang Group, officially signed the cooperation agreement.

Under the agreement, the two parties will collaborate in areas including cross-border cardiovascular healthcare services, telemedicine cooperation, healthcare capacity building, and international exchange. The partnership aims to introduce Xiamen Cardiovascular Hospital’s advanced cardiovascular diagnostic and treatment technologies, as well as its healthcare service system, to Indonesia, thereby providing local patients with high-quality cardiovascular care.

Through strengthened collaboration with Indonesian partners, the hospital aims to promote the sharing of high-quality medical resources, enhance healthcare accessibility, and contribute to the development of international healthcare cooperation among BRICS countries.
