On March 26, 2026, the China–US Expert Exchange on Physiological Pacing was successfully held at Xiamen Cardiovascular Hospital, Xiamen University (Xiamen Cardiovascular Hospital).
Leading pacing experts from China and the United States gathered to conduct in-depth academic discussions and live procedural exchanges on key topics including physiological pacing and left bundle branch pacing (LBBP), bringing new momentum to the field of arrhythmia treatment.
At the opening session, Director Li Qiang, head of pacing electrophysiology at Xiamen Cardiovascular Hospital, warmly welcomed Professor Pugazhendhi Vijayaraman from Geisinger Medical Center in the United States and shared clinical experience related to LBBP in RBBB.

Director Li introduced that Xiamen Cardiovascular Hospital was among the earliest centers in China to carry out His-Purkinje system pacing and has completed more than 2,000 related procedures, accumulating extensive clinical experience.
Professor Vijayaraman is internationally recognized as a leading authority in conduction system pacing (CSP), a key global promoter of CSP therapy, and one of the principal authors of CSP guidelines in Europe and the United States.
During the meeting, Professor Vijayaraman delivered a presentation on “The Current Status and Future Development of Physiological Pacing,” sharing the latest international research and discussing future prospects for the technology.

Professor Cai Binni from Xiamen Cardiovascular Hospital also presented “LBBP in Xiamen Cardiovascular Hospital,” systematically introducing Xiamen Cardiovascular Hospital’s extensive experience in His-Purkinje pacing and discussing classic cases of left bundle branch pacing in heart failure patients.

Professor Vijayaraman further exchanged views with President Wang Yan and Vice President Wang Bin regarding clinical challenges and technological innovations in pacing therapy.
On the same day, Xiamen Cardiovascular Hospital’s pacing electrophysiology team, including Li Qiang, Cai Binni, Li Guiyang, Liu Jianghai, and Li Linlin, jointly performed four representative His-Purkinje pacing procedures while engaging in live discussion and observation with the American expert

This exchange not only established an efficient platform for international academic communication but also promoted the wider adoption of physiological pacing and LBBP technologies in China.
In the future, Xiamen Cardiovascular Hospital will continue advancing the field of cardiac pacing and work together with experts worldwide to provide higher-quality and more physiologically appropriate treatment solutions for patients with arrhythmias
