Implementing the Global Development Initiative and Making a Return Appearance at the China International Fair For Investment & Trade

September 8, 2023, marked the grand opening of 23rd China International fair for investment & trade, Xiamen. It was also the second consecutive participation of Xiamen Cardiovascular Hospital Xiamen University (abbreviated as XMCH).
This conference has thoroughly implemented the global development Initiative and set up an innovative "Global Cooperation Exhibition area" to showcase the achievements of local practices in implementing the global development initiative.
XMCH showcased domestic innovative cardiovascular medical devices, staying true to its theme “Promoting Domestic Innovation, Research and development”. Furthermore, serving the bottleneck challenges and serves the global development of cardiovascular health.
XMCH also demonstrated the achievements in international cardiovascular talent training. To address the global shortage of cardiovascular specialists, XMCH launched the "Heart Sapling Visiting Scholar Program", initiating training for international cardiovascular specialists. It is estimated that 15-20 visiting scholars will come to Xiamen for training each year.
April 2023, during a high-level thematic briefing on the Global Development Initiative held at the United Nations headquarters, the China International Development Cooperation Agency specifically released this project to the world, inviting members of the "Group of Friends of the Global Development Initiative" to actively participate. Currently, 2 cardiovascular specialists from El Salvador, 1 from Vietnam, and 1 from India are receiving training at XMCH.
